Skipping Ahead...

I have had the best of intentions to fill in the last several months but I have concluded that is unrealistic and I need to move forward. It was a very long summer but we are getting through it and coming out stronger. The kid's are great...Will is growing so fast, he has doubled his birth weight and added 6+ inches to his height.
Addie becomes more engaged with him every day and it is precious to see. She was being quite the big sister while mom fixed his bottle and read him "The Napping House" one of our favorite books.
Will is changing every day, he has already cut his first tooth!

Addie Feeding Her Brother

Addie has really turned into a great helper and big sister, she is very gentle and loving.

Father's Day 2009

Jonah and the kids enjoying some time outside, it was a nice morning...in the shade!

Addie has found a new passion, princesses! Her current favorites include Sleeping Beauty (pictured below in her carriage), Cinderella, Ariel and Giselle (from the movie Enchanted which she would watch 24 hours a day if she could). I never thought my almost 3 year old would be singing about true loves kiss!
One blessing from our ordeal was that Nana flew out to help us for 2 weeks and we were SO sad to see her go! The unfortunate part was that we didn't get too many pictures but I loved seeing this so much that I had to include it.

Jonah has settled into being a dad of two better than I ever could have expected or hoped for.

A trial to live through...

I am not going to spend too much time or space on the ordeal we faced with my collapsed lung, however, I do want to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped us during those weeks of chaos(chaos to us and a complete plan to God). The meals, the babysitters, the visitors, the kind thoughts and prayers meant so much to us. I always thought that I had a pretty good handle on life's blessings and how fortunate I was to lead the life I do. I can tell you now that I had no idea. God gave me the opportunity to see the unconditional love of family and friends in a way I hope I never forget. Life is returning to some new form of normal but I will never forget this summer or all of the lessons in life that it brought.

Addie & Will

The first day Addie came to the hospital she wasn't so sure of all the surroundings, however, the second day we were moved to the new wing of the hospital with much bigger rooms and less "medical" stuff so she was much more relaxed. Addie took to being a big sister right away!

Aren't they precious!!!!

Baby Will

William Jonah Reardon arrived on May 26, 2009 weighing 8lbs 4oz and was 20.5 inches long. What a day it was! He looked so much like Addie those first few days...except 2 pounds bigger.

Pebble Beach

Jonah has always talked about and dreamed about playing golf at Pebble Beach. So when the opportunity arose for the VERY soon to be dad of two to live out this adventure I couldn't resist adding it to the blog. He and his friend Kevin had an amazing day and one that I am sure neither will soon forget. It is so great to get to see your husband so excited about something and then have it live up to all the expectations. I find that especially as adults the anticipation is the best part but in this case Jonah will be the first to tell you, absolutely not true! Below are a few pictures from the day...

My Baby Shower

A few friends gathered to help celebrate Will's upcoming arrival and it was such a great time. Kelley and Catherine really went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. Here are a few pictures of the day. Thank you to everyone who was there in person or in spirit to make
this a fun morning!
Catherine, Kelley & I...thanks girls!!!

My friend Michelle...it was so great to see her!

My mom and her friends, they are the best!

A few of the gals from our small group, I am sad we didn't get a picture with everyone.

The mommy's to be, it is so crazy how different I look compared to being pregnant with Addie! Cat and I are excited to share this adventure and know that our little ones will be great friends!

Easter

I love Easter! We were so blessed this year to have amazing weather, great food, a relaxing day and of course an exciting Masters Tournament to watch on television. Addie received a backpack filled with goodies vs. a basket this year and she has been wearing it ever since. She loved hunting for eggs and making crafts in her class at church. We have definitely turned a corner lately and she is all little girl these days.

Where to even begin...like I said above...ALL GIRL!

As for the rest of us, the count down is on! 6 weeks remain before our little boy arrives and we are excited. I have not been very comfortable as of late and having trouble sleeping but other than that everything is good. He is measuring just where he should and my delivery has been scheduled. After much discussion and lots of looking we have tentatively decided that his name is William Jonah Reardon and we will call him "Will". If you have followed along this year you know that William was my grandfather's name and it just seems to fit. God's "Will" is sure to bless our lives abundantly and we can't wait to meet him!

Palm Desert

We had the chance to "escape" to Palm Desert for a few days and enjoy some much needed relaxation and sunshine! While we were there we visited the Living Desert zoo and the Children's Discovery Museum, both of which were a lot of fun.
There was a display of African instruments that the kids could try...Addie loves music so she really got into this part (cookies were the only thing to drag her away).
The petting zoo...I missed most of this part but from what I was told this little animal got tired of being the center of attention and gave Addie a "nudge" with his horns.

One of my favorite parts were the giraffe's, I couldn't believe how open this zoo was and how close we were to some of the animals.

Riding the range...

The Discovery Museum had lots of neat exhibits and different things to do while Jonah and Papa were golfing. Addie is very into movement and how things work right now.

The motorcycle was a big hit with most of the kids there.

Cat's 30th Birthday

I don't normally post our day-to-day events but this I had to share. First, to everyone who has asked what I currently look like, here you go! Being pregnant with a boy is so very different (for me) than being pregnant with a girl. At this point in my pregnancy with Addie I was not small (yes, I am being nice to myself today). This little man seems to just suck everything out of me!

Cat is one of my best friends from college and while we don't see each other as much as we would like we are always quick to pick up where we left off. She and her family have always been amazing to us and we were so excited to share in her family birthday.

The best part of this visit was getting to see our growing bellies side-by-side. Cat and I are due 3 weeks apart and we are so excited that our kids will be so close. We are convinced that they are having a girl and our little boy will be able to show her the ropes!

This is yet another glimpse of God's perfect plan, they like us struggled to get pregnant and it is such awesome timing that we are going through this together. We have shared lots of tears and will now share lots of memories!!!

Addie is getting to the age where she is understanding the different things she attends, this was no exception. When she heard "party" she was ready to go and had no problem posing for the camera.

First Day of Pre-school

Addie started a one day a week preschool program this past week and we are enjoying it! I am loving having a few hours to myself and she is loving the interaction with other kids. She did really well the first day and even better this week. Her teachers say she is catching on quickly to the different activities as well as taking instruction...now if that would just transition to home as well!

Our Precious Baby Boy!!!

I have continually said that God has a sense of humor and He has yet to fail me. I fully admit that anyone who asked me what I wanted got the "girl" response as I wanted Addie to have a sister. That said, everyone tried to tell me it is a boy and I think I was living in denial. Jonah new from day one.
Before Lisa (the ultrasound tech) even told us I saw the tell tale sign and was suddenly filled with so many emotions. I can't explain it except to say that I am truly excited and nervous all at the same time. We have been so ensconced in everything little girl that this is a completely new adventure.

I find it so fitting that as my Granddaddy left this earth a new little boy has been sent to fill his place. My Granddaddy was one of my favorite people and I can only pray that this little man has his faith, compassion, and sense of humor.
For now we begin the hunt for names, the middle name will be William (that was my grandfather's name) and seems so appropriate for this time in our lives.
